Still Together

Pacific City, Oregon - 1976
The weekend came and went and so did our wedding anniversary!  Thirty-five years!  How did we get here so soon?  We look at each other and are amazed - we're still friends.  We're still....Married!  We're still....together!

Thirty-five years.  We've been together longer than we were single.  We married at 20 & 21 - that would be considered quite young in today's estimation.  But, those years were amazing years for us.  Young and immature, for sure.  Who isn't at 20?  Yet, those years we chose to marry and live together grew us up.  We drew closer and stronger as we struggled through hard decisions.  We learned to enjoy new adventures.  We explored our gifts and talents while attempting different jobs and creative outlets.  And, we became parents.  All this together.  It was never a thought we would NOT be together at 35 years - and here we are....wow!

A new cycle has begun. Our children are now adults.  Two are married and a third in just another week!   Each are experiencing the growing and maturing through their own struggles and adventures.  They are finding their creative outlets and vocations.  They will some day become parents.  Ron and I are often on our knees for our kids - you see, if it wasn't for our faith in Christ over the years, we may not have remained together.

Our prayers and testimony is for this generation know God in their marriages and relationships.  That they will make it through those tough times and see it's God who provides and gives grace each day.  That they will enjoy the blessings of discovery and adventure in the gifts He gives them to share with others.  That they will receive children in their lives with awe and wonder.  Why?  Because this is how they will remain together.

"Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness....choose this day whom you will serve, ....but, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
~~ Joshua 29:14,15
